First, the basics. The Samsung UN75F8000 is an edge-lit LED. It’s also ultra slim at only 1.6 inches wide. The UN75F8000 is a smart HDTV, with wifi connectivity, streaming content, gesture control, and a built-in camera. Basically, this TV has everything.
In terms of picture quality, the Samsung UN75F8000 has probably the best picture quality for a 1080P HDTV this size. The 240Hz refresh rate makes it ideal for gaming and watching sports. What’s more, Samsung incorporated micro dimming technology into the UN75F8000, which eliminates the uneven black levels that happen in some LED HDTV pictures.
Some reviewers on Amazon complained about lag issues with the video processing, specifically when watching a Blu-ray disc. This seems to only be an issue with specific Blue-ray players and TVs. Also, some reviewers complain about certain viewing angles being less than ideal.
The bottom line: the blistering-fast refresh rate and 4 HDMI ports make this an ideal TV for gamers and sports fans. However, the Samsung UN758000 price might be an issue for the budget conscious: it is currently selling for just under $8,000 on Amazon. If price isn’t an issue for you, you cannot go wrong with this TV.
